Moving Along...

Yup, things are moving right along! I'm still hoping to get a customer for my business soon, but seriously it's about helping people and I do know I'm doing that! I have several people I talk with often about fitness and nutrition and many of them glean good information from me on a regular basis, so I'm on the right track! As far as my own family goes, things are the same. I have made a lot of changes in the kitchen though and I'm not sure they really love it. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit and chicken and NO junk (well, compared to normal around here, I haven't purchased hardly anything!). I'm making oatmeal for breakfast often and just today I picked up some Truvia to sweeten it with since the honey and brown sugar is putting me WAY over on sugar and carbs every day! It's a learning process. I'm still learning! The best thing I have coming up soon is a fantastic reunion of sorts with some college girlfriends! We have gotten together this last weekend of January now for three years in honor of our dear friend who passed away four years ago. After her funeral we realized we weren't making enough time for each other and had started to really drift apart, so we put it on the calendar and MADE time for us! You know what? I've looked forward to it every year! This will be no exception... lots of giggles and stories and picture taking and games... yes, just like college, but only for one day! It always goes so fast, but I'm looking forward to it just like last year. So it will be another wonderfully busy weekend, but be assured that even though I may splurge this weekend, I won't fall completely off the wagon. I will still workout. I will still try to eat well. I will not eat three servings of dessert. I will not have more than two drinks!!! Yes, those are my goals. I WILL do this! AND, I'm going to have FUN! Stay awesome....

Ok, So It's A Slow Start...

Yes, I'm starting a new business. It's a slow start. I know that, and I apologize, but I'm getting there. I've added a few new things to the sidebar if you didn't notice. My plan is to put the workout program I'm doing on the side so you can click and find out as much information as you desire about that program, even purchase if you like! (Absolutely no pressure sales from me, it's not my style.) There's also a link to my website through Team Beachbody. If you click on this link you should be able to find even more information about all the Beachbody products, and that's always good. Information is power after all! I'm going to try and update this blog often, at least weekly if not more. There's nothing I want more out of this than to help as many people as possible! Not interested in Beachbody? That's fine too, I still want you to succeed in your health and fitness endeavors. So if there's a question brewing in your brain, please ask! If I can help in any way possible, I will do just that! In the meantime... stay awesome!

Yup! I'm In!!

It was a pretty relaxing yet productive weekend at our house. I managed to cook a big pot of chili and a pot of soup for my lunches this week. I got the laundry done and the kitchen is as stocked and ready as it can be. We did go to lunch out yesterday but that was it. Far better than the three meals per weekend we used to eat out!!!!

Anyway, keep being awesome. Keep eating well and make that body work harder than you think you can because you deserve it!!!!

Bring it!

Where Does The Time Go???

I have not been very good about updating my blog! I have a little bit of news to share, so I figured I'd start here. You know that over the last couple of years I've decided it's time to get fit and stop being the chubby wife and mom that I'd been for a very long time. I started out running, then REALLY watching my diet. Then I joined a gym. After that I did P90X... twice! Well, this fall, I even ran a marathon!!! Yes, little short-legged, 40-year-old mama actually finished a full 26.2! It was SO hard, and I have no desire to do it again soon, but I'm still running and kicking some booty. Fast forward to present. Just a couple of weeks ago I signed on with Team Beachbody to be a coach. Now, what does that mean? Well, it means that I am here for anyone who wants to get fit. I can give advice, point people in the right direction and offer products that I believe in. I started using Beachbody's Shakeology which I truly LOVE and wish I could get everyone in my life using it. So, first and foremost, I'm here for you. Would I love it if everyone purchased Beachbody products from me? Sure! That would be awesome! But no, that's not my main purpose. My main purpose is to see people get healthy and achieve their goals no matter what they are. What are your goals? There are a lot of ideas running around in my head, some of which I'm not ready to post about yet, so suffice to say that I'm here. I'm busy, I'm kicking butt and ready to take on the world one fat cell at a time!!! Currently I'm shrinking my own fat cells by eating really healthy yummy food, and ACTUALLY learning to cook (never thought I'd say that!) and working out every day. I love how I feel when I wake up in the morning and get my workout done before the rest of the house is even awake. I feel like a superhero lifting weights!!! Are you ready? I can be your coach for free, and you can take my enthusiasm and change your life! Ok, enough sales pitch... I have to go to sleep soon so I can be awesome tomorrow. Live well!

Boat Ride!

Now we have had this boat for 10 years. It's nothing fancy, just a little speed boat. 20 feet of fun in the sun!!!! Two years ago at the end of summer we had used it twice and needed some work done over that winter. We spent lots of money on it and had a lot of things done. Well, last summer it never ran. We tried. It was still not running. We were sad but too busy to use it much anyway. So we had it in again. They said it was good. We tried to start it in June and the thing wouldn't start! After all we'd been through we still didn't have a boat that would run. So sad.

So this summer we had it back at the shop. Getting a little tired of this, but we want it working. Finally got the call that it was done last week and today had the opportunity to put it in the water and test it out! Not only did it start right up, it ran great!!! We just tooled around for a couple hours, no swimming or tubing today, but at least we now know its running. Hope we can get a slip at a marina next year so we can use it more often, but that's still in the works so we will see. We have a marina in mind so if it happens I'll be super happy!!!!

Here's a shot of David on the boat today. He wanted to go but seems less than thrilled here. I think he wanted to go tubing or something. Whatever. At least we can go next time!!!!

My Family

If you know me at all I think you may know that my family is super important to me. You may also know that we are separated by a ton of miles. I have a small family. Only three Aunts/Uncles and three cousins. My grandparents are all with Jesus as well as my Dad and two other Uncles. We rarely get to see my family. Thank goodness for reunions like the one we had today? My Aunt Sheila and her husband Uncle Steve are having there 50th class reunion this weekend so they decided to drive the RV all the way from Oceanside California to little old Barryton Michigan! Since they wert driving up, my Uncle Sam decided to head up from Pensacola Florida (I told you we are spread out!). So I'm still on vacation and sister is off for the summer and what else have we got to do? We drove up to the lake (it was Grandma's house and will always be known as the lake to us) and spent the afternoon just hanging out with them! So glad we had the chance. I need to travel more. Seriously.
Here's a shot of my sister and I with our Dad's sisters and brother.

The Graduate!

So many of you know I recently finished my first round of P90X! It was hard and it was awesome! The program really pushes you beyond what you think you are capable of which I'm proud to say I pushed it hard! I have more muscle tone than I ever thought possible and really can't wait to see what a few more rounds and some other programs will bring to this little mama!

I got a present in the mail today. When you finish your first round there's something online you fill out and about three weeks later you get this awesome shirt in the mail. The front just says P90X and the back, well c see if you can make it out in the pic. I couldn't wait for someone else to take it, so forgive the self taken shot. Yup. I love my new shirt!
